Governance Committee
The Governance Committee, consisting of the Management Council’s officers (President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary), ensures that the Board of Directors operates effectively and in alignment with the Council’s mission. This includes guiding the development of Council priorities and goals, providing fiscal updates to other committees, and offering support so that all Board members can fulfill their responsibilities successfully.
External Committee
The External Committee oversees all outward-facing activities of the Management Council, including event planning and the annual awards program. By relying on member feedback, it ensures that events—such as networking events, learning opportunities, and speaker series—are both meaningful and beneficial to County managers across departments. The committee also solicits award nominations, selects recipients, and plans the awards banquet to highlight and celebrate outstanding achievements in a transparent and inclusive manner.
Internal Committee
The Internal Committee oversees the internal operations and engagement activities of the Management Council to ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. This includes managing Communications, which handles regular messaging to keep members informed, coordinates event-related announcements from the External Committee, maintains the Council’s website, and publishes a newsletter contributed to by Board members and designees. In addition, the committee oversees Membership by recruiting and retaining members, planning membership meetings, and recognizing outstanding contributions from within the Council.
